Increasing My Commission Prices

Good morning/afternoon/evening/night. I thought I'd write this quick note to let everyone know why I raised my future commission prices from 30, 50, and 100 points to 250, 300, and 500 (whether you noticed the change or not before now is fine; that's why I'm addressing it here).

Simply put, I spoke to several other artists and friends on this site whose commissions are all priced in the 1000-2000 range of points. When I asked if my art was under-priced, they said yes. They looked at what I've been doing on my DA page and said I simply wasn't getting fairly compensated, and after some thought, I had to agree.

I do want my services to be available and affordable, so I won't charge anything above 500 points. This is a sort of compromise for affordability and fairness. But the truth is simply that I need to manage my time and resources better. If I kept my prices at 30 to 100 points, I'd be practically giving away my art for free. Art which takes hours of care and concentration.

I also want to leave time for my fanart and personal project. So if I am doing commissions on top of all that, I want to feel certain that my time drawing those commissions is well spent for both my customer and myself.

I hope you all understand and don't see this as me being greedy. I just want to earn what I feel my art is worth.
